A washer tends to quit mid-load, leaving soaked clothes and sometimes water trapped behind the door. Some machines flash a code, others just hum. Usually one part or one blockage is to blame, such as a sock in the drain pump, a door that refuses to lock or a load that threw the drum off balance, and that rarely means buying a new washer.
Airtexno Appliance Repair works in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Calabasas and across Ventura County. Each visit opens with the $95 service call, a written estimate comes before any work, and the $95 is credited once the repair goes ahead.
Most front loaders keep a filter behind a small cover at the bottom front. Unplug the washer, let any hot water cool, put down towels and a shallow pan, and unscrew the filter slowly. Rinse off lint and coins and refit it. The washer and dryer maintenance guide suggests doing this every few months.
Slide the washer out a few inches. The drain hose should run without a fold or pinch, both faucets should be fully on, and a fill hose that bulges or cracks should be replaced before it bursts.
Pull apart tangled sheets or towels and run the spin again, since a single bath mat often cannot balance alone. If the cabinet rocks when you press opposite corners, turn the feet until all four sit solidly.
A blank display can mean a tripped breaker or an outlet with a reset button that has cut out. If the screen lights but the buttons do nothing, the child lock may be on. LG turns it off with a three second press on the child lock button.
Water left after the last spin means something blocks its way out. Socks, coins and lint pile up in the pump filter of a front loader, and a crushed drain hose slows the flow just as much. With both clear, a pump that hums without moving water, or stays silent, has jammed or failed.
A load bunched to one side makes the washer slow or cancel the spin, and one heavy bundle of towels is enough. If even loads still come out dripping, check drainage first, because the spin waits for the water to leave. Past that, the motor or its control needs testing in person.
Heavy thumping usually traces to an uneven load or a washer sitting off level. Shaking with a balanced load points to worn springs or shock absorbers under the tub. A roar that grows louder week by week is typical of worn tub bearings, one of the bigger washer repairs.
At the front of a front loader, look for a torn door seal, a trapped sock or detergent foaming out. Behind the machine, check the fill hose fittings and whether the drain hose slipped from the wall pipe. Water underneath can mean a pump or tub seal.
A dark panel points to the plug or the breaker. Lights without action usually mean the door or lid is not latching or the child lock is on. A washer that runs but gets no water often has a closed faucet, a kinked hose or clogged hose screens. With good supply, the inlet valve or door lock is the usual fault.
Front loaders seal tightly, so moisture lingers and mildew follows. Leave the door and detergent drawer open between loads, wipe the folds of the door seal and run the tub clean cycle when an LG shows tcL. A smell that returns right after cleaning can mean water is sitting in the pump.
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| OE (E03, E21) | The LG washer could not pump the water out, so the drum stays full. | Straighten the drain hose and clean the drain pump filter. A pump that hums with no water leaving calls for a technician. |
| IE (E02, E10) | The tub did not fill to the right level within the time LG allows. | Open both faucets fully, unkink the fill hoses and clean the screens where they attach. If it continues, the inlet valve should be checked. |
| UE | Laundry bunched on one side of the drum and the washer could not even it out. | Redistribute the load, keep it near two thirds of the drum and level the washer. |
| LE | The motor could not turn the drum, usually from an overload or an object caught inside. | Remove part of the load and check for coins. If LE repeats with a light load, the motor circuit needs service. |
| dE (dE1, E01) | The door has not closed all the way, often because clothing is pinched against the rubber seal. | Clear the seal and shut the door firmly. If it persists, unplug the washer, hold START/PAUSE for five seconds, then restore power. |
| Sud | Too much foam is in the drum, so the washer adds steps to break it down. | Use HE detergent and no more than the dose on the label. |
| AE | LG has detected a leak inside the machine. | Close the faucets, check the fill hose connections and unplug for 60 seconds. If AE returns, keep the washer off until it is serviced. |

Local laundry rooms hold front load washers, top loaders with or without a center agitator, and stacked pairs in closets. LG and Samsung front loaders sit in many newer homes, Whirlpool, Maytag and GE top loaders in older ones, and Speed Queen or Electrolux pairs in some laundry closets. Before booking, note the model number from the sticker around the door opening, under the lid or on the back. Trouble with the dryer half of a stack is covered on the dryer repair page.
A washer that has run well for years usually deserves one repair. A drain pump, door lock or inlet valve costs well under a new washer once delivery, hookup and haul-away are added. The math shifts when an older machine needs tub bearings and a control board together, when the outer tub has cracked, or when replacement parts are no longer sold. The written estimate shows the numbers, and the guide on deciding between repair and replacement walks through the same choice.
Airtexno Appliance Repair backs each washer repair with a workmanship warranty for up to one year.
Washer repair reaches every corner of Thousand Oaks, plus Dos Vientos and Casa Conejo in Newbury Park and Three Springs in Westlake Village. Whether the washer sits in a garage, a laundry room or a closet under a stacked dryer, mention it when booking.
To the west the area takes in Camarillo Heights, RiverPark and Seabridge in Oxnard, and the Ventura Keys, and to the east Wood Ranch in Simi Valley and Mountain Meadows in Moorpark.
The visit begins with the $95 service call. A written estimate follows before any work, and the $95 is credited once the repair goes ahead. The total depends on the fault, so the price is set after an in-person check.
The washer could not drain. Straighten the drain hose and clean the pump filter behind the lower front cover. If OE returns with both clear, the pump needs a technician.
Most often the load is lopsided or the feet are uneven. Shaking on a level floor with a balanced load points to worn suspension parts.
Better not. Water under a washer can reach the subfloor long before it shows. Close both faucets and keep the washer unplugged until the leak is traced.
Usually, yes. Simi Valley and Oxnard both fall inside the Ventura County service area.
